About me
Hi! My name is Charlie Harding. I have competed in triathlon for most of my life. I have been part of the North West Academy and England Next Generation squad before being selected onto British Triathlons World Class Programme as a guide for a visually impaired para triathlete. During my career as an athlete, I started coaching at various regional academy camps including the North West, Yorkshire and East triathlon Academies. Whilst at university, I coached students at the University of Nottingham. I now conduct physiological testing including VO2 Max and submaximal tests for athletes, incorporating a scientific approach to coaching.
Interests
Other than triathlon haha!
I enjoy sailing and water sports.
I used to play the saxophone which I pick up on the rare occasion.
Coaching Philosophy
Every athlete is different. I don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach. For an athlete to get the most out of themselves, doing something different from another athlete may be the best approach. I also believe enjoyment is the most important part. Whether you train 2 hours a week or 30, enjoying what you do is really important for longevity in the sport.
