Manchester Triathlon Club Juniors

Man Tri Juniors welcomes children aged between 7 and 14. We are a very friendly club and our emphasis is on empowering the children to have confidence and fun whilst training and racing!

We train up to 3 times per week at the following times:

  • Swim: Tuesday 6:30pm – 7:30pm at Moss Side Leisure Centre
  • Bike: Wednesdays 6:00pm – 7:00pm  at Longford Park Track (see the Junior Members’ Facebook Group for details)
  • Run: Wednesday 6:00pm – 7:00pm  at Longford Park Running Track

 

The swim sessions assume that children are able to complete the following:

  • 50m continuous front crawl face in the water , recognisable breathing pattern
  • 25m continuous backstroke with sink and push off the wall on their back
  • 25m continuous recognisable breast stroke
  • 25m continuous recognisable butterfly
  • Perform a sitting or standing dive
  • Collect an object from the bottom of the pool.
  • Perform a forward somersault
  • Exit the water without using the steps

Children should be working towards Swim England Learn to Swim Framework stage 6 or 7 and be able to meet the above criteria.

Please note that due to insurance all children must be full members of the club before taking part in training sessions.
