In April 2020, we’re welcoming a new Head Coaching Team to the Club:

Sarah, Adam and Caz will team will take the Club forward following Kate Offord’s departure.

A new structure

We’re trialling a different way of managing the duties traditionally filled by the Club’s Head Coach, following a review of the current post by Kate. Ahead of her departure, Kate told the committee that the role had become too large and diverse for one person to carry out in the contracted hours of one and a half days per week. Based on her experience and work with BTF, she identified that other Head Coach roles enjoyed a greater degree of flexibility than our current model.

The model of splitting the duties between three individuals means that the focus on senior coaching, junior coaching and coaching administration can be more clearly defined. The changes recognise developments in Club coaching and the needs of our Club in particular, including for a figure head to secure the growing junior section.

What happens next?

There will be an opportunity for members to hear more about the future of coaching at the Club AGM on Monday 27th January 2020.

We’re also looking into having a ‘meet the new head coaching team’ event, shortly before handover, where Sarah, Adam and Carolyn will be on hand to talk about their plans for 2020.

In the meantime, if you’ve got any questions, please contact Kate at [email protected] or Rachel at [email protected]
